Apple Cuts $70 Off Price of New iPads

If you have always wanted an iPad, but could not justify the price, Apple has some good news for you.
The Cupertino company has made over its iPad Air, complete with a simple, new name — iPad — and a new price. The newly released 9.7-inch iPad has a brighter display, all-day battery life and starts at $329, reduced from the original $399 sticker price.
“iPad is the world’s most popular tablet. Customers love the large, 9.7-inch display for everything from watching TV and movies, to surfing the web, making FaceTime calls, and enjoying photos, and now it is even more affordable,” Apple senior vice-president Phil Schiller said. “New customers and anyone looking to upgrade will love this new iPad for use at home, in school and for work, with its gorgeous Retina display, our powerful A9 chip and access to the more than 1.3 million apps designed specifically for it.”
iPad, which runs on iOS 10, boasts the Apple-designed A9 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, front- and back-facing cameras and Touch ID.
The device, which comes in silver, gold and space grey, starts at $329 for the 32GB with Wi-Fi model and $459 for the 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model. It will be available to order beginning Friday from Apple.com and will arrive on Apple stores shelves next week in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. It will be available in April to Denmark, India, Mexico, Norway, Russia and Turkey and will arrive in May in Brazil and Taiwan.
All customers who purchase iPad from Apple will receive free personal setup, either in-store or online, to kick-start customization of the device.
